Pet Peeves?Cyclists on the bike path who zoom by without saying anything and do it right before the underpasses. Top five IPOD selections?I’m Still Standing Are you training for your first triathlon? If not, which ones have you done?I’ve completed 3 Danskins and 1 Long Beach Sprints, last Danskin was in 2006 just before I hurt my knee playing soccer. What inspires you to do triathlons? They give me something to work towards so I keep to my workouts, but I also enjoy the training. I was reading an article about meditation, how you’re supposed to be in your body and not think of outside things and that’s what training does for me. It’s a time, every day, when I’m just thinking of myself, really. Who inspires you?Every woman athlete. We’re all so different, but we come together in our love of triathlon or soccer or any sport, really. What is your biggest challenge/fear?My biggest challenge is always the run and my biggest fear is that I’m going to wreck my knee again, but, fingers-crossed, it’s holding up well. Any advice for future TriDivas?Just do the workouts and let yourself feel a sense of accomplishment when you get them done for the week. What do you enjoy most about training with the TriDivas?I love that the meetings get me to the beach at least once a week. I live in Southern California, I should be out there at the beach. I especially love the runs along the beach near sunset, something I would never do on my own. Ooh and I love open water swims. What are your future goals?Finish the Danskin, do the Santa Barbara Tri and then play soccer! Tell us one dirty little secret about yourself.Well, it’s not much of a secret, but way back when I showed up for my first mock tri with the TriDivas, I forgot my bike. Luckily I was early enough that I could drive back home and get it. And I didn’t forget it for the real thing.
