1. Who are you?/Age/Occupation:
Maria Piechocki, 43 - Administrative Manager in a finance office and working towards a brokers license.

2. Favorite Quote: I have no idea who said it first but the one that continually loops in my head and keeps me going†when I'm training or racing: "You can rest when your dead."

3. Favorite Athlete: Annika Sorenstam, Sue Bird, Michael Ballack, Dave Scott

4. Favorite Healthy Food: Sushi

5. Favorite indulgent Food: A LOT of Sushi, I like to believe that if I eat enough raw fish I'll become a more efficient/faster swimmer without really having to do all of Kelly's stroke drills.

6. What currently are your favorite IPOD selections? U2 - Beautiful Day, INXS - Mystify, Missy Elliot - Work It, Rolling Stones -Sympathy for the Devil, Talking Heads - Road to Nowhere

7. Are you training for your first triathlon? If not, which ones have you done? What inspires you to do triathlons? I have done Redondo Beach, Carlsbad, Santa Brabara Women's Sprint, Long Beach, San Diego Subaru Women's Sprint, Lake Havasu, Newport†Beach, Wildflower. The desire to see to what limits I can push my body as well as health, well-being, sense of accomplishment and my competitive nature inspire me to do triathlons. Also training is a great frustration and stress release for me and I enjoy being outdoors and active.

8. WHO inspires you? I have a new found respect for anyone who is dedicated (crazy enough) to†train for and complete an Ironman.

9. What is your biggest challenge/fear? My greatest fear is the front wheel coming off my bicycle when I'm flying down a hill at 28 mph because I didn't secure the spindle tight enough.

10. Any advice for future TriDivas? Following your training schedule as closely as possible is definitely key. On the days you are lacking motivation...don't want to get in the water...don't feel like biking or running...think about your upcoming race and how good it will feel when you are passing people because you feel strong and prepared!

11. What do you enjoy most about training with the TriDivas? It's fun to train with a group, everyone is incredibly friendly and supportive and when we swim in the bay or ocean there is piece of mind that there is safety in numbers if anything happens to be lurking in the depths.

12. What are your future goals? To run a sub 50 minute 10k, average 19 mph or better on my bike in my next race and to continue to be physically active and compete into my 60s and beyond and have fun!
