Diva of the Month

1 Who are you?

Suzanne Lee

2 Favorite Athlete:

Matt Leinart (former QB for USC--just drafted to the Arizona Cardinals).  He's VERY easy on the eyes.  Actually, we're dating...he just doesn't know it yet...

3 Favorite Quote:

"If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins." --Ben Franklin

4 Favorite Sport:

Team sport: Volleyball
Individual: Triathlon (of course!!)

5 Favorite Food:

McDonald's French Fries...they're loaded with all the healthy nutrients every athlete needs...right???!!

6 First Triathlon? If not, which ones have you done?

First Tri: 2005 Santa Barbara Super-Sprint

7 What inspires you to do triathlons?

The knowledge that I'm doing something good for myself--that I'm pushing myself to my limits.  Plus, I feel pretty cool when I can say: "Yeah, I do triathlons..."  :0)

8 WHO inspires you?

When I was running at the YMCA one day, I had to stop before my workout was over because my knee really hurt...I was all grumpy when I was changing in the locker room, but then a woman on crutches who was missing the lower part of one of her legs came in.  I suddenly thought, "Why am I complaining?!  Things could be so different!"  Since then, I've been so thankful that God has blessed me with the ability to train like I do, and when I'm feeling discouraged or tired, I think back to that woman and I realize that I'm really very lucky.

9 What is your biggest challenge/fear?

Biggest challenge: Training by myself, after training with the Divas.  It's so hard to get motivated when there's no one else around!!  :0(  I miss you guys!!!

10 Any advice for future TriDivas?

Just relax and have fun!  Don't try and overtrain--Kelly knows what she's talking about, and you'll be more than prepared for your first race.

11 What do you enjoy most about training with the TriDivas?

Knowing that I'm as prepared as possible when race day comes.  I'm ready both physically and mentally, I've practiced with my gear, AND I know I can change my flat tire!  :0)

12 What are your future goals?

I'd eventually like to do a full Ironman..I'm shooting for a 1/2 this year, so we'll see how that goes!

13 Anything else you would like to add?

Training with the Divas has been the best thing ever!  (And I got my mom to do it too!!)  I've also learned that I really enjoy triathlons, but not because I enjoy competition and giving myself new challenges.  As a triathlete, I get to see some of the most beautiful countryside, swim at the prettiest (well, sometimes) beaches and reseviors, and meet some of the nicest people.  Every Diva enjoys triathlons for their own reasons, but it's nice step back and take the time to savor the moments.
