Are you training for your first triathlon? If not, which ones have you done? I have completed 2009 Hermosa Beach, 2010 & 2011 Race on the Base, 2010 & 2011 Strawberry Fields Olympic, 2010 Nautica Malibu International, 2010 Tinsel Tri, 2011 Redondo Beach, & 2011 Vineman Half AquaBike.
What inspires you to do triathlons? The challenge of being able to do something that I’ve never done before. Every race is a new challenge, even if it’s a race I’ve done before, conditions and competitors are different, I also like the challenge of trying new distances, such as the Vineman Half Aquabike I just finished, or the Oceanside 70.3 race I’m signed up for next year.
Who inspires you? My sister, she overcomes challenges on a daily basis, she always encourages me in whatever I do.
What is your biggest challenge/fear? Seeing things float by in murky water, it’s fine when I can see the fish swim by in clear water, but in murky water, I’m not expecting to see anything.
Any advice for future Tridivas? Don’t be afraid of the water, the swim is the best part.
What do you enjoy most about training with the Tridivas? I enjoy the opportunity to train with others, it makes it more interesting, definitely more motivational.
What are your future goals? To complete the Oceanside 70.3 in 2012.
Tell us one dirty little secret about yourself? I have been known to fall asleep in the water. I also seem to like to fall of my bike.
